How does a weekend event rental work?
A weekend event unit is delivered on Friday and picked up on Monday, at one flat price. You do not pay extra for the days before and after your event. The unit arrives pumped, sanitized and stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer, so guests can use it as soon as the driver leaves.
For a weekday event, the unit arrives the business day before. After a Monday holiday, pickup moves to Tuesday. Delivery times are not exact, so plan for the day before rather than the morning of.
How many porta potties does a party need?
A party needs 1 standard porta potty for every 50 guests for up to 4 hours. A 6-hour party with 100 guests needs 3 units, and an 8-hour party needs 4. Add 1 unit per 100 guests when alcohol is served, and 1 hand wash station when food is served.
| Event | Guests | Hours | Recommended |

Where should event units go?
Event units should sit downwind and at least 25 feet from food and seating, but within about 150 feet of the crowd so guests can find them. Put them on level ground the truck can reach, face the doors away from the tables, and light the path for evening events.
In Dothan's summer heat, shade from a tree or the side of a building keeps units cooler. Keep the accessible unit closest to the main path.
Do festivals and public events need a permit?
Public special events in Dothan need a sponsor license from the City of Dothan, and the vendor list is due at least 14 calendar days before the event. Units placed on a street, sidewalk or city right-of-way also need city approval. A private party on private property usually needs no permit.
Contact City of Dothan Special Events (Business Licensing, (334) 615-3166) to confirm your event's requirements.
