What do people in Elba rent porta potties for?

Three kinds of jobs fill the Elba delivery list: low-ground placement, farm and timber work, and courthouse and town events. Below is what each one usually orders, where the units go and how often they get serviced in Elba.

Low-ground placement

Elba's levee failed in the 1990 flood, and the town also flooded in 1929 and 1998. During wet spells we keep units away from ditches and low spots.

Farm and timber work

Row crops and timber surround Elba. Field units go near the work with a GPS pin and notes about gates.

Courthouse and town events

Events near the courthouse need units staged on a side lot. Book event units a week ahead because Elba is outside our same-day zone.

Most Elba orders call for standard units plus an ADA unit and hand wash stations for public events or field units paired with hand wash stations for farm crews. A standard unit fits a 48-inch gate and needs no water or power. Pick a restroom trailer only when the site has level ground, a hose and an outlet.

Permits and placement in Elba

Private yards, farms and job sites in Elba rarely need a permit for a porta potty. Units on a street, sidewalk or park need a nod from Elba City Hall first, and anything on a county road shoulder goes through Coffee County.

Alabama requires portable toilets to meet the ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 standard and to be pumped by a certified pumper (Ala. Admin. Code r. 420-3-1-.29). Every unit we place is serviced on that basis. County contact: Coffee County official website.
